Welcome to my e-portfolio! I am Lillian Yeboaa Oteng, passionate about human rights and Social Justice issues, specifically the rights of women and girls. With an undergraduate certificate in Sociology and a graduate degree in Human Rights and Social Justice, I have dedicated my career to working with vulnerable populations and empowering such individuals to achieve their goals through advocacy, peer group support programs, person-centered planning, counseling, behaviour interventions, and psychoeducation.
I have over ten years of frontline and supervisory experience in Ghana as Public Relations Assistant at the Ghana Cocoa Board, Finance/Administrative Assistant at the Society for AIDS in Africa, Ghana, Interior Community Services as Child and Youth Living Worker and currently Lead Addictions Worker at A New Tomorrow Treatment Solution where I solidified my leadership skills, deeply and comprehensively knew how team dynamics work, how to solve problems, and how to communicate effectively. The cultural tempering from working with people of varied abilities has culminated in my belief in the magic of inclusion: creating an enabling environment that allows persons with disabilities and the marginalized to be independent and grow.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to lead initiatives in both residential and community settings, focusing on holistic approaches to care and development. I hold certificates in Master of Arts in Human Rights and Social Justice, Bachelor of Arts in French and Sociology, Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and a developmental certificate in Mental Health and Addiction. I am committed to lifelong learning, always striving to stay up-to-date with my field’s latest research and practices.
In this portfolio, one finds the collections of my work, including coursework on Human Rights and Social Justice, Practicum and Experiential Learning, and reflections structured to demonstrate my skills, experiences, and achievements. Please join me as I take you through this journey and appreciate my drive toward professionalism in succeeding in service to others.
Thank you, Gracias, Merci!
